About Dr. Avnish Seth
Dr. (Colonel) Avnish Seth, VSM, is Chairman of the Manipal Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences at Manipal Hospitals, Dwarka, New Delhi. An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, he completed his MD in Medicine at Pune University and DM in Gastroenterology at PGIMER, Chandigarh. He undertook fellowships in liver transplantation at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, UK, and advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound in the United States. His clinical expertise includes complex gastrointestinal and liver disorders, advanced endoscopic procedures, liver transplantation, inflammatory bowel disease and fecal microbiota transplantation. He has over 100 publications and has contributed to organ donation and transplantation programmes in India. He received the Vishisht Seva Medal from the President of India in 2009 for his contribution to establishing a successful liver transplant programme at a government hospital.
