Dr. Sandeep Aggarwal

Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Aggarwal is Chairman of the Manipal Institute of Minimal Access, Bariatric, Gastrointestinal and Robotic Surgery at Manipal Hospitals, Dwarka, New Delhi. He has more than 30 years of surgical experience and has performed over 1,300 bariatric procedures, more than 400 renal transplants and over 10,000 laparoscopic operations. His expertise includes bariatric and metabolic surgery, laparoscopic gastrointestinal procedures, hernia surgery and solid-organ surgery. He completed his medical education, master's degree in surgery and senior residency at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He subsequently undertook a research fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and Commonwealth Fellowship training in bariatric surgery at Homerton University Hospital, London. He is an active researcher with more than 140 publications and has held editorial and academic leadership positions in surgical journals and professional organisations.
