Dr. Amit Maydeo

Dr. Amit Maydeo is the Chairman of the Institute of Gastrosciences at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai. He has more than 35 years of experience in gastroenterology and gastrointestinal endoscopy. He received the Padma Shri in 2013 for his contribution to medicine and gastroenterology and has served as President of the Society of GI Endoscopy of India. He introduced third-space endoscopy procedures in India, including POEM, STER and ARMS, in 2012 and launched India's first Bariatric Endoscopy Programme in 2018. He has published 91 papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals, contributed chapters to nine textbooks, and serves on the international editorial board of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has conducted more than 200 endoscopy workshops internationally and established Endoscopy Gurukul to train endoscopists in advanced gastrointestinal procedures.
