Dr. Shashank Shah

Dr. Shashank Shah is a pioneering bariatric and laparoscopic surgeon associated with Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai. The hospital profile reports more than 34 years of surgical experience and over 30,000 operations. His clinical interests include bariatric surgery for obesity, metabolic surgery for type 2 diabetes, laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery, surgical emergencies, trauma, portal hypertension, laparoscopic oncology and thoracoscopic thymectomy for myasthenia gravis. He has served as president of several national organisations focused on obesity and metabolic surgery and has been invited as a visiting professor at universities in Europe, the USA, Malaysia and Bangladesh.
